Fw: Friday the 13th!

This is truly one of the most revolutionary performances I have every seen.

Tonic, 107 Norfolk St. NY NY between Delancey & Rivington
212-358-7501

Friday July 13 at 8:00 $10 double bill

            Victoria Hanna

With Hanna (vocals), Frank London (trumpet), Tamir Muskat (drums)
Giddy Raz (guitar, electronics) & Tali Hinkis (live video).
Rare NY appearance by this Jersualem-based chanteuse, with special
guest Frank London of the Klezmatics. "She is a rebel. A lover of unreigned
expression in art and an admirer of Indian art forms. Renowned Israeli
experimental vocalist in the field of theatre, Victoria Hanna, is being termed
a rebel in her country becuase she is transforming holy Jewish texts into vivid
musicals and trying to interpret them in a contemporary context."--Bombay
Times. "Hanna's performances are extracted from ancient texts like The Holy
Bible and Hebrew Scriptures which she explores and applies to our present
society. She uses defined facial expressions and hand gestures to express and
emphasize her words. The nature of her monologue combined with her subtle
changes of posture are sure to keep you glued to your seat."--The Mumbai Age.
Presented with the support of the Office of Cultural Affairs Consulate General
of Israel in New York.
             Big Lazy
With Stephen Ulrich (guitar), Paul Dugan (bass) & Tamir Muskat
(drums).
             Twangy, lurid, primeval instrumentals.
