I can easily see why someone would mistake William O. Douglas for Potter Stewart
in this context. While it was Stewart who defined pornography as knowing it
when he saw it (which begs at least one more question regarding Stewart's
expertise), Douglas is credited with one of the most famous melodic borrowings
of all time, his new lyric to Dvorak's instrumental Humoresque. Having already
referenced pornography, I'll spare you Douglas's words, at least until someone
demands to know them.
We should be grateful for all the interesting places this thread has gone, of
the usual beaten paths on this list.
