Re: OT, but hot, HOT! Romanian musicians

So, if a bassist would want to learn a bit of this style/technique of bass 
playing, in which music, which dance-forms, would it be legitimate to use?  
(I assume we?re not speaking here of any link to the bass-slapping of some 
American jazz players, yes?)
