Listen this Thursday (June 15) for two new releases of Jewish and Klezmer 
music.  The first, "European Klezmer Music" on Smithsonian Folkways by Khevrisa 
featuring violinist Steven Greenman and cymbalist Zev Feldman.  It takes a 
historical look at 19th century instrumental European Klezmer repertoire.  The 
second, "Ghetto Tango" on Traditional Crossroads with singer Adrienne Cooper 
and singer/pianist Zalmen Mlotek takes a look at music created in the Jewish 
ghettos in Poland and Lithuania from 1939 to 1942.  A very moving recording of 
music written during, and about the most difficult and despairing times 
possible.
