Sorry to disappoint you Simon. I wasn't one of the lambasters. I am not
a fan of Mandy's English singing, but made sure to go see his Yiddish
Broadway show. >>

Better read my reply again, I never said YOU. It was a statement about how
people treat Jewish music when they have to support it. The whole thing goes
back to what I said. Sometimes you just have to accept what is available
until something better comes along. when you'r starving to death, you don't
hold out until somebody invites you to a 4 star restaurant, in many ways,
Yiddish music is starving. I therefore give credit to both Kempin & Lemm for
at least offering what they have to give. Nobody is forceing you to listen
to or purchase (have I told you we accept Visa & Mastercard) his recordings.
If Hatikvah only carried the recordings I liked, I could put a bowling alley
in the store, but there is a need for representing things that are not my
personal taste!

As far as Mandy goes, to each his own, not my cup of tea, but I'm glad he did
it. I do happen to like his Yossel, Yossel which is not on that Cd, but more
about that MUCH later.

Enough already, I think we should give the List a break, there are so many
more important issues such as , Why is it that no one plays the triangel in
Klezmer bands, and if they did, would they getr the girls??
