Hevre: It looks like I'm going to be doing another retrospective or "Top 10"
survey of Jewish music for the August issue of Moment Magazine again (I did
one last August, too).
I think I'm pretty much caught up to date on new releases, but if there's
anyone out there who hasn't gotten me something recent, now is the time. (If
you've got something planned for release in the next few months, it'd be
great if you could send me an advance; even a cassette might do in some
cases.)
Please remember this will be a very selective review -- and we're really
focusing on "new" releases, as recent as possible -- so I can't guarantee
even a mention for anything I receive.
However, as always, anything you send me also gets considered for airplay on
"Rockin' the Shtetl" or for review in one of several other magazines,
newspapers or webzines to which I regularly contribute.
This survey isn't limited to klezmer; in fact, we'd very much like to
include non-klezmer. I'm especially interested in hearing if there are any
new classical-based Jewish works out there.
