According to the latest issue of the Israeli Yiddish journal
"Lebensfragen", there is now playing in Israel an original drama on the
life and writings of Gebirtig, entitled "A harts vos benkt nokh lider" [A
heart that longs for songs], written in Yiddish by the Hebrew dramatist,
Joshua Sobol.Most of the actors are from the Yiddish troupe, "Yidishsphil"
