Dear Itzik,
Thanks for that.  I've located the book.  Another tidbit of information is 
that the Sheffield Jewish community actually comes from Poland, a town 
called Suwalki near the Lithuanian border.  So, the dances done would have 
come originally from that region. (I'm still learning the right questions to 
ask--have never done this sort of research before).
