My German-Frensh dictionary translates it as "magouiller", which means
something like "to plot","to cheat" or "to deal secretly", familiar and very
depreciative.Interesting classical antisemitic image...
---->the term "Moos" for money ... comes directly (as "mauscheln") from
Hebrew/Yiddish (and its
German translation): Moyshe (Moses).
I once read that it came from the Hebrew "Maot".
