For anybody interested in the history of the Rom (Gypsies) as seen by
themselves, the URL below is for a site maintained by a Rom group
investigating its own heritage.  I think it's still active, although I
bookmarked it last year.  It's an interesting site, and it's informative
checking out our ideas about "Gypsies" and their culture with how they
see themselves, and drawing parallels with how non-Jewish cultures
mythologize about us.
