Garcia Lorca, Don Bueso et al

Hi, I don't think Garcia Lorca set any Sephardic poems to music, and also
imagine he wasn't likely to have collections of Sephardic poetry around in
any case. Don Bueso y su hermana is NOT of Sephardic origin. It ALSO exists
in the Judeo-Spanish repertory, which does not, as many album jacket notes
seem to enjoy suggesting, imply that this is its origin. It goes back to the
Kudrun cycle. It's well-known in both Spain and Portugal, still, as well as
in the Sephardic repertoire. Cheers, Judith
