Klezmer and Jiddish Choral workshops



TWO JEWISH MUSIC WORKSHOPS IN HOLLAND, SUMMER 1999

Tulip Art Connection Holland, directed by Olga van der Hoeden, announces
two Jewish workshops to take
place in Holland this summer.
The first: ?MAZL TOV!?, a Klezmer music, song and dance workshop led by
Jeff Warschauer (mandolin, guitar, vocals) and Deborah Strauss (violin).

Date: July 17 -24 1999.
Program: workshops instrumental ensembles, singing, dancing;
instrumental Klezmer techniques;
lectures, film and excursions to Amsterdam. Jeff and Deborah will
present a concert as well.
The second: ?WORLDS OF JEWISH SONG?, conducted by Isabelle Ganz. Date:
July 31-August 7.
Program: choral arrangements of songs in Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish and
Hebrew,
with emphasis on Yiddish folk songs, will be rehearsed, culminating in a
performance on August 7th.
Exercises in singing technique and musicianship skills will also be
offered.
Isabelle Ganz, accompanied by pianist Peter Lunow, will also present a
concert with a program
of ?Worlds of Jewish Song?.
Both workshops take place in a beautiful authentique castle located
between Amsterdam and The Hague.
Sightseeing and excursions are part of the program.
