If there is a record that you are interested in but you have only a
limited information about, how do research it? Let's say that you
have a song title and its performer or a classical composer and a
composition's name and you want more information (e.g., label and
number), do you use paper listings (e.g., Schwann, Canfield) or the
internet (e.g., All Music Guide)? What information do you look for?
If you decide that you want the LP, what do you do with that
information? Do you keep it in mind and look in record stores and
thrift shops and vendor lists? Or do you send out want lists? And if
you do send out want lists, whom do you send them to? Parnassus for
classical?
