Sorry for the tardy response, but I'm several weeks behind on my e-mail....

<The tape "Fuge Imaginea" has incredibly beautiful and powerful cimbalom
playing by Alex Eppler. Miamon Miller and Michael Alpert are two of the
other performers on this fantastic tape that contains Jewish, Romanian,
and Transylvanian material. Unfortunately I think it is
out of print. Does anyone know if Alex is performing on cimbalom lately?>
I just phoned Alex Eppler today to see what he's up to now. (Speaking of
ancient history, he and I used to have a violin/cimbalom duo in 1984-85.)
He's still playing the cimbalom, but only rarely in public these days--not
that he wouldn't enjoy doing so more often. He spends much of his time
custom-making wooden flutes. He's also conducting for studio sessions and
has recently become artistic director/conductor of the NW Chamber Chorus in
Seattle. He is also involved with Russian and Bulgarian liturgical
(church) music.
