Look up the recordings of both ALHAMBRA (NEW YORK-based) and VOICE OF THE
TURTLE (Cambridge, Mass-based).  As far as research is concerned, Judith
Wachs of V.of the T. and I often bump into each other in the Jewish Music
Research Centre of Hebrew University in Jerusalem, checking out the field
recordings.

Simon of Hatkivah Records in Los Angeles, who is undoubtedly reading this
now, will send you an enormous list of other groups and soloists who
specialize in Sephardic music....if you ask him nicely.
