I have noticed that many places where Yiddish is used today print it in
transliteration.See for example, the English edition of the Forvitz. I
beleive that eventually it will come full circle. Yiddish originated
primarily as German written in Hebrew letters. Now it is becoming
Yiddish (actually German words) written in Latin letters. The sound in
the transliteration are the same or similar to German, but the spellings
are different; e.g. gesundheit in German and gesunthait in yiddish.
