But there really are Jews out there (out here?) who want to watch TV on
Jewish holidays that remind them of their Jewishness, in the same sense and
for the same psychological reasons that Christians watch Christmas movies
on Christmas day. There really are Jews out there (") who are not
Halachic, and they don't feel at all guilty about it.
Isn't it possible to live and let live in these areas? Couldn't the
approach to broadcasting be to broadcast both before and on the holiday to
get Jews of all kinds? (Public Broadcasting stations, in particular,
repeat good shows several times a week.)
