Dear Friends,

Seattle at the end of June. The details follow:
June 26, 1997 - Denver, Colorado; at the JCC, at 7:00pm; for info. Tel.
303-399-2660
June 29, 1997 - Seattle, Washingtom; at the Temple Beth Am, at 7:00pm; for
info. Tel. 206-525-0915
Original in concept and sound, the Tzimmes style ranges from Klezmer to
Sephardi to Middle Eastern to Folk, with songs in four languages - Hebrew,
Yiddish, Ladino, and English. Our first two albums, 'Sweet and Hot' and 'A
Lid for Every Pot', have received many excellent reviews and airings,
including a spot on National Public Radio's 'All Things Considered' with
Robert Siegel (in the U.S.), and on the CBC's Gabereau Show, with Vicki
Gabereau.
Over the years, Tzimmes has concertized in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and
England, at Folk Festivals and Communal Events, for Jewish and non-Jewish
audiences alike.
Of our album, 'A Lid for Every Pot', _Dirty Linen_ had this to say:
"On this, their second recording, Vancouver's contribution to the
revival in ethnic Jewish music continues with beautiful renditions of a
panoply of sounds. Delicately balancing an understated musicianship with a
love for their heritage, Tzimmes cranks out songs that cover a variety of
times and places. A romantic serenade in Ladino, the Judeo-Spanish
dialect spoken for centuries by Sephardic Jews; a Klezmer tune from
long-ago Russia; contemporary folk tunes and Middle Eastern rhythms from
Israel; traditional melodies associated with religious practice - it's
all here, transcending continents and centuries." (ES)
We'd love to see you there,
