Yiddush theater music

[Bloomfield, Stefan <bloomfld...>]

Our synagogue choir is preparing a concert of some of the best-known
songs from the Yiddush theater. I would like to give some introductory
comments for each song, with perhaps a brief synopsis of the play in
which the song appeared and how the song appeared in the play. 

(a)  Can anyone suggest a source (or sources) where I could get enough
information to comment on the history of the following songs and the
context in which it appeared in its play?

(b)  Or better yet, can anyone answer from their own knowledge?

The songs are:

     Rozhinkes mit Mandlen
     Glik
     A Brivele der Mamen
     Di Grineh Kuzine
     Der Rebe Hot Geheysen
     Lebn Zol Kolumbus
     A Bis'l Libe
