The American Society for Jewish Music runs some classical concerts of new
Jewish music in NYC from time to time.  They also publish a journal which I
believe comes out annually.  They take themselves very seriously but their
dues which include the journal are very inexpensive - think around $20 or
so.  Their membership consists of many cantors and composers of Jewish
music as well as some Jewish music professors.
