The subject of your work is of great intrerst to me since I am a musician
myself.
I went to school in israel - both elemntry and high school - and as far as I
remember we had some basic music apriciation class in elemntry school, it was
called 'ritmika', we played some precussions, and it was also involved some
dance and music listening.
At a later stage of my education we were given the option to take music lessons
through school as extra curriculum.
But the option for most students who were interested in music was to take
private lessons outside of school (like I did).

Today, there are specialized schools in israel that constrate on music and
other arts.
