Look, there may be some confusion here. I thought the original
question referred to a song which I think of as a Negro Spiritual
(well, that's what the Fireside Book of Folk Songs called that genre
in the 50's) or a Gospel song "Down by the Riverside" which has words
as follows:

(verse I)

I'm gonna lay down my sword and shield
  Down by the riverside,
  Down by the riverside,
  Down by the riverside,
I'm gonna lay down my sword and shield
  Down by the riverside,
  And study war no more.

<chorus:
<for i := 1 to 6  :-) (this is on a computer, isn't it) >
  I ain't gonna study war no more,

(verse II: substitute "I'm gonna put on my long white robe" for
"I'm gonna lay down my sword and shield")
(verse III: something like "I'm gonna walk with the prince of peace",
I think)

Multi-cultural version: substitute for the chorus,

<for i := 1 to 2>
  Lo yisa goy el goy cherev,
  Lo yilm'du od milchama,
  Lo yisa goy el goy cherev.

I don't think "Down by the Riverside" is a translation of "Lo yisa goy",
rather a different song, inspired by the same Bible verse, which can
happily come back to its Hebrew roots.
