re: ki va moed- it is, i think, an example of the bumav letters. after
the yud of the previous word, the kaf becomes a chaf. in sim shalom, for
example, it is ki v'or panecha etc. this is Rabbinic hebrew grammar, and
different from colloquial modern hebrew.
