[HANASHIR:3244] Re: Plural of HN

Adrian - please don't give me quite so much credit. Most people's eyes glaze
over when Hebrew gets this grammar-oriented. I find it all kind of fun, but
it was Rabbi Kaplansky here in St. Louis at United Hebrew who, 5 or 6 years
ago, grabbed his Weingreen Hebrew Grammar (still fresh from his seminary days
of almost 30 years past) and answered my question about "eshmera" in Ki
Eshmera Shabbat because I couldn't place the form anywhere.

Don't denigrate your B+ - I have plenty of colleagues, rabbinical and
cantorial, for whom the cohortative, and any interest therein, is not even a
memory.

P.S. We could "call the whole thing off" but for me the delights of Jewish
music/song/prayer are tied up intimately with the language, so I "groove" on
such little things as cohortative. Besides, it nice to know how "commanded",
imperatively speaking, we are by the title of our group.
