I'm impressed with Judy et al's abilities to get guitars in the
passenger compartment. At least at the airports I've been to lately, I
can't even get past security with the things, because the Powers That Be
have put little plastic "hoods" on the conveyor belts into the maw of
the x-ray machine, that "enforce" the carry-on size limit.
When did this "size limit" become a federal law, anyway? Since when
can't you bring a musical instrument on board a plane? I'm waiting for
the storm troopers to appear at the airport, ready to haul you off to a
small room with bright lights and a nasty death if you even harbor
*thoughts* of (gasp) bringing something over 9*14*5 (or whatever it is)
on board. Sheesh.
It's a major Catch-22 because if you check it they make you sign a
waiver of liability for damage. So if your guitar arrives in fifty
pieces, the airline can wash its hands of the affair.
One more reason I hate airlines.
Sign me,
Grumpy.
