[HANASHIR:2770] Re: HANASHIR digest 516

Larry,

My husband and I have had some good experiences with gatechecking our guitars.
Instead of checking your guitar with your luggage, bring it with you to the
gate and before getting on the plane, ask the airline reps to gatecheck it.
That means it will get a certain colored tag and be handcarried to where the
luggage is put on the plane. And it should be handcarried and delivered to the
arrival gate by a luggage person as well when you arrive at your
destination.Though we're extra careful about waiting by the door (right where
you get off of the plane) and watching for the guitars. Once, they
inadvertently sent it with the rest of the luggage to the carousels and we
were not too happy about that.

Make sure to check with your airline about their gatechecking policies. Good
luck!

Ellen A.
