[HANASHIR:2570] RE: Where are all the songleaders?



Matt,

Being from the congregation where your wife is now a Rabbi and currently
living on the opposite coast, I actually think that the problem is not so
much that there isn't interest among youth to be songleaders, but we're in
sort of a transition time, where there are a lot of great songleaders who
have decided they are "too old" (a bunch of you-know-what) for this job, and
there is a huge new crop that just aren't quite ready to go out on their
own. My prediction, for what it's worth, is that in a few years, we'll see
an abundance of songleaders, but for right now, it's nice to feel wanted!

As for Brian's commentary on the subject...very funny!
