Rachelle,
I have done the Bar'chu (la,la as we call it) with my adult and childrens
choir, I did not write out a harmony, but we did separate it with the women
start the first set of la, la's the men joining on the second set of la,la's
everyone singing unison for the Bar'chu back to the la, la's with everyone
then only women.  I found this to give the choir members the variety they were
looking for and a quick sense of accomplishment with lots of kudos from the
congregation. We also do alot of rhythmic emphasis in the piece, which if I am
not mistaken is already written in the music.
