"dona nobis pacem" are the final words to Agnus Dei, (Lamb of God, you take
away the sins of the world, grant us peace.) the last part of the proper
Mass.  The canon you mention has been attributed to William Byrd, who wrote
church music for both Anglican and Catholic regimes in England.
