I use "Hashem" in my "Y'varech'cha" song, which has actually caused me some
grief in Reform circles.  It just fits the whole mood of the song better, and
my emotional/spiritual mood when I wrote the song.  I would of course use
Hashem or Adoshem when singing any of my songs for any group who would be
offended by using another name, and I would expect others to do the same.  I
grew up in an Orthodox/Lubavitch run day school and so this feels natural.  In
fact it took getting used to saying Adonai in songs.  But now that feels
natural too.  My feeling now is that there are different names for God and
each has a different feeling to me.

By the way, do you teach all girls?  And do you teach some of the "modern"
stuff?
