[HANASHIR:1745] Re: words to songs in general..

Thank you, Laura, for reminding people of "Rise Up Singing" and
"Sing Out." I consider both absolutely indispensable. RUS is the
most basic tool of our weekly song circles, though I can't sing anything in
that volume without transposing... Fortunately, most
everything is three chords. (Well, that's a little exaggerated, perhaps.
But as Woody said, any more than three chords is just
showing off) We have about six copies in the house. (You never
know when you'll have company) and I have given many copies as
baby gifts. (The words to all the songs you want to sing to your
kids at bedtime)

Sing Out contains columns by Pete Seeger, Faith Petric and
lots of other great folkies. And songs in every issue!

The Sing Out folks are in the process of compiling RUS volume 2.
It is probably being published on folkie standard time, so I'm trying
not to hold my breath. But I do look forward to its arrival.

Terri
