Actually, I hear a lot of people mispronounce English when doing readings at
our congregation. It seems to be somehow "acceptable" these days, just as not
knowing how to spell is more acceptable than it used to be. In the long run,
no one should really embarrass someone by correcting them in public (unless
correcting them while reading the Torah is part of that congregation's minhag)
but I think we should all strive to pronounce words correctly, in any
language.
