There. I said it.
As much as I love Hava Nashira, I am NOT enamoured of the "mini HN" idea
(like the mini-CAJEs.) Too much of anything is never a good idea. I think
mini HNs could take away from the uniqueness and specialness of this annual
event, dilute its essential nature.
I would support and encourage informal "alumni and friends" gatherings, but
not formally structured workshops, unless done in conjunction with another
event (like a mini-CAJE)
I urge great caution in the unbridled enthusiasm for the mini HN idea I have
seen expressed here in the past few days.
Remember what happened to Nadav and Abihu when they enthusiastically made an
extra offering before the Lord. More is not always better.
