Re: To reiterate

Shalom l'kulam!

It never ceases to amaze me that the same people who want to get the list
"back on topic" have no qualms about contributing a tome justifying their
position and then everyone else justifies their position, people
apologize, become offended, we discuss that and do some more apologizing,
more offending, more philosophizing, and then the "hand from above" - our
"list master" - steering us back on the supposed "course" puts in his
two-cents worth, we all apologize or become offended once again, justify
those positions and so on and so forth - ad b'li dai.

MASPIK! (ENOUGH! for those who haven't brushed up on their Hebrew lately)

While this list is specifically about Jewish music, that topic does
include our ideas, thoughts, opinions, and philosophies on a great many
subjects, including observance, the different denominations, tradition,
family, Temples, shuls, synagogues, friends, family, geography, history,
Torah and G-d.

These are the things that inspire our music!
These are the things that are expressed via our music!
These are the things that we study to better understand our music!
These are the reasons that we have devoted ourselves to Jewish music!

Personally, I'd rather have the types of discussion that we have had
during the last week or so than the daily advertisements for some new
klezmer group, playing wherever and how you can buy their newest CD for
$19.95 if you don't hesitate and call NOW before the last copy is GONE,
GONE, GONE!

Sarcasm aside, let's just listen to each other and what we have to say.
It may not always be stictly adhering to the main topic, but I'd like to
know who would say that these subjects aren't relevant to Jewish music.

Thanks for listening to my one and only diatribe - it won't happen again,
I promise!
