Raquel - I have to disagree with the "spiritual" approach insofar as the
earlier discussions on getting the kids to sing in the first place, especially
in the early teens.  

The reality is that if you expect them to admit any kind of "spiritual" uplift
in the sight or hearing of their peers you're fighting a losing battle.  The
last thing that an adolescent wants to openly demonstrate is such feelings,
especially if it is in "Sunday School" or during services, which they would
never admit to liking.  When do they show energy and "spirit?"  When there is
something involved that is accepted by their peers and which doesn't single
any individual out as being different or doing what adults want them to do.  

We need to appeal to the kids in a way that is comfortable and non-threatening
to them.  I don't think that demonstrating davening is such a way.
