KUMZITZ (SING-A-LONG) ON NYC's Upper West Side
(FREE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR YOUTH GROUPS!)
A special "Kumzitz" for the community will be held on Saturday night, January
18, at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Ohab Zedek, 118 West 95th Street, between
Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues on Manhattan's Upper West Side. (Accessible by
#1, #2, #3 or #9 subway to 96th & Broadway stop.)
The word "Kumzitz" - meaning "come sit" in hebrew - identifies a unique type
of sing-a-long that provides an opportunity for Jews of all backgrounds to
share the warmth, friendship and spiritual joy found in singing together. The
program will be led by Rabbi Avraham Zimberg, with accompanying music provided
by Jonathan Rimberg, Noah Solomon, and Stephanie Kurtzman on violin.
Both singles and families are invited. An informal social for singles, college
students and young professionals follows, with light refreshments.
Proceeds for the event will benefit Congregation Ohab Zedek's Outreach Program
and the Shalom Task Force to promote harmony in Jewish homes. Donation is $12
in advance, $15 at the door. For families: $30 in advance, $36 at the door.
As a special educational service, FREE bulk tickets are available for youth
groups and collegiate clubs!
For tickets or further information, call Zimmy at 212-864-5559.
