Hi Meris - Richard Kaplan might be a good source -- he has a wonderful Iraqi
piece on his 1999 CD "Tuning the Soul" -- "Hallelu Avdey Adonai".

Friends, I am looking for Jewish music from the country of Iraq. Can anyone
suggest resources, either written or audio?
Thanks,

Dear Meris,
At CAJE, 2002 in TX there was an incredible group of 4 ladies from the Austin
area called Divahn (a word common to Hebrew, Persian and Arabic and means a
collection of songs or poetry). If I remember correctly the lead singer, Galeet
Dardashti's grandparents were from Iran. The music is from Iran, Iraq, Israel,
Turkey. Styles: Mizrakhi, Ladino with very eclectic instruments. Not sure if
this is what you are looking for but very intersting and well done.
