Shamash list owners-

In the evening of 1/26/04 there was an outbreak of a high risk virus called 
one of these names:
W32/Mydoom (at) MM (Mcafee)
Novarg (F-Secure)
W32(dot)Novarg(dot)A (at) mm (Symantec)
Win32.Mydoom.A (CA)
Win32/Shimg (CA)
WORM_MIMAIL.R (Trend)

Please do not open attachments, unless you are certain of their contents.
The dangerous payloads includes attachments such as these: (varies [.bat,
.exe, .pif, .cmd, .scr] - often arrives in a ZIP archive) 
(22,528 bytes)
    * examples (common names, but can be random)
    * doc.bat
    * document.zip
    * message.zip
    * readme.zip
    * text.pif
    * hello.cmd
    * body.scr
    * test.htm.pif
    * data.txt.exe
    * file.scr
Shamash has updated our virus protection which will prevent this virus from 
being transmitted through our system, but this virus forges From lines to 
make it appear as though it goes through systems which it does not.

Shamash highly encourages all users of the Internet to have updated 
anti-virus protection on their personal computers.  Please contact your 
anti-virus vendor for more information on how to update your virus
protection.

It is not Shamash's policy to routinely notify our list owners when a virus 
outbreak occurs, but this virus is extremely virulent, and we suspect will 
have a profound impact on our system in that it will slow down list mail 
delivery from shamash.org over the next day or two as this virus propagates 
and our system gets bombarded with copies of this virus and discards it.
