Hi all,
I am a guitar collector. I own 11 guitars and a
mandolin. I would have to say that some of the really
great guitars aren't Martins, or Taylors, or even
Gibsons. I usually play on my Gibson acousitc J-185EC.
As Steve said, taking care of it very important. There
are however guitars that have amazong sound at half
the price.
Seagull Guitars are incredible. They are the Martin of
the North and very inexpensive.
Epiphone acoustics are beautiful to look out butu the
sound is not as crisp as an actual Gibson.
I think that each guitar has a different quality sound
to it. Don't always rely on looks and Brand Name, try
a bunch of different guitars out. Guitars like Tacoma
are beautiful and sound fantastic, not as popular a
name butu an equal sound the the bag names. Make sure
that you get a feel for what style strum you have and
base that on what type of guiar you should buy. If you
play lightly get a jumbo so your sound will resonate
nicely, etc. Good luck, it is my favorite time of year
when I go guitar shopping. Be well.
Groove and Hamentashen-
