I think it is wonderful to have new tunes for prayers, or poems. However, it
depends where the prayer is being used. If you are using the setting of Yom
Hashoah, I would probably choose the 'traditional' setting of 'Ani Ma-a-min.'
However, I have had choirs sing 'Mashiach' which is the same prayer/poem set to
rock music. It's a wonderful song, sung in the appropriate setting. I would
hate to squelch people's creativity in their composing. However, I can make
the choice as to which tune is appropriate for my needs at that time.
