No melody, not even Kol Nidrei are from Sinai. The opening lines of Kol
Nidrei may have been ancient... but the rest is very classically European,
and I've known musicians who have - let's call it "issues" with that melody
too. It's all in the ear of the beholder... and what sounds good (or
"spiritual"...) to one individual or one generation will inevitably change
over time. The real problem is dogma... not this or that tune.
