[HANASHIR:15120] Re: Power Failure (Was Colombus affected?)

My heart goes out to everybody affected by the "blackout of 2003".
Though Cleveland was affected, Columbus was not.
My wife is presently teaching a 3-day Pre-CAJE course in Columbus. She
assures me that power was never lost and that pre-conference is alive and
well and that CAJE itself should be, too... excepting only those courses and
workshops whose presenters were delayed by unanticipated transportation
problems arising from the east coast blackout.

Hi friends -- Just got back from NYC where we narrowly "escaped" some
real problems. Got out of the city carefully, slowly, but at least we
got out! Only had to crawl down 10 flights of stairs in total
darkness. Better than sleeping on the streets!

Does anyone know the conditions in Columbus? I know Cleveland still does
not have power. What's happening with pre-conference, etc.? Any word?
Thanks,
