Hi,
Yismechu is the third of four paragraphs of a prayer called Tikanta
Shabbat in the Shabbat morning Musaf service, immediately following the
Musaf Kedusha. For those of you interested in interesting details of
liturgy, the first 22 words of this prayer are a reverse acrostic, going
from Tav to Aleph. ( Not the Yismechu part) It was already known in the
9th century of the common era, but, could possibly be slightly older
than that. This section is chanted in the Ahavah Rabbah mode, and for
all you composers out there, music for this piece should be written in
that mode, if you want the piece to be authentic to Jewish tradition.
That's all I know. Hope it helps,
Marsha
