another option, if you have your own classroom for music as I do at the day 
school where I teach, is to use overhead transparancies.    The advantages:    
1) they don't tear or fall apart   2) I don't have to worry about adding pages 
if I have a new song   3) don't have to wait for kids to find the right page 
and MOST beneficial - the kids are looking up when they sing instead of down 
and I can see who's participating or not and they sound better too. :)     
Also, if I have a schoolwide assembly or something I don't need to have enough 
books or sheets for 330 kids - just one!    the disadvantage is that they can't 
take it home to practice... so sometimes I do make songsheets for that...
