I just had this conversation with my step-mother who is an ASL
interpreter (and former teacher of interpreters) and she warned me that
there are people who detest interpreted singing, but more than anything,
those who use ASL (American Sign Language) really get upset when people
use "invented" sign -- so make some people happy, and if you choose to
incorporate sign (which I do on some of my songs since I don't play an
instrument on stage, and need to do something with my hands), at least
let it be "good" sign!
