[HANASHIR:12879] Choral Music

Education is definitely needed - - though you will find it hard to get
through to people who have a mindset that "nothing is worthy."
Transcontinental is definitely the source. As far as specific
recommendations - -
Chanukah:
       Mi Y'mallel - Herbert Fromm
Light the Legend - Michael Isaacson
       S'vivon - Max Helfman
Maoz Tsur - Marcello, arr. by ? (this was published by the NY BJE
years ago
Lo V'chayil - Elliott Levine [his publishing house in NY)
       Chanukah Variations - Joshua Jacobson (based on a children's song;
very clever in use of many musical styles)
       Ocho Kandelikas - Jagoda/ arr. by ?

However, I suggest avoiding Chanukah music and going for a more general
approach.
Some selections that would work well with HS choir -- "at that level" are:
       Hallelujah - Stephen Richards
       R'tsei - Simon Sargon
Three Psalms - Isadore Freed (published separately, in English)
       Psalm 23 - Herbert Fromm
and the list goes on. However, I am at home and these were off the top of my
head. Like most cantors, I have boxes full of SATB material worthy of the
most sophisticated HS choir.
