[HANASHIR:11903] Re: question about recording

Every kind of deal is made when recording a cd. Many musicians are thrilled
to simply play on a recording and don't want to miss that opportunity
because of lack of monetary compensation. Many professional musician's also
play for no charge if the project is interesting enough. It is not uncommon
for some players to make $150.00 per tune while others make $50.00 or
nothing. As long as you're being honest with everyone involved there
shouldn't be a problem. Giving them a cd when it's done with their names
listed on it seems fair to me. One other thing that will make them all
extremely happy: Feed them at the session. Take orders or have pizza, sub
sandwiches, drinks and give them breaks and they will think very highly of
you. (and play much better) Trust me.
