[HANASHIR:11415] Re: v'sham'ru pronunciation

Rachelle -

Tomeyto/tomahto. The more common (and more modern) pronunciation would be
"hashvi-i", where the shva (or is it "sh'va"?) is silent. But if you need
another syllable, it may be pronounced.

Speaking of pronunciation, I am teaching my choir to sing the word
hash'vi-i in V'sham'ru not as hashevi-i but as hash-vi-i even though the
music in the South African melody in Gates of Song implies the first. Am I
correct or is it another question of tomayto or tomahto?
