[HANASHIR:11195] cd labelling (A "free" alternative)

There's lots of really good reasons to get a commercial labeling software
package.
However, you said "Cheap and easy." So if you're just looking for a VERY cheap
way to get some very nice labels printed and stuck on just a few demo cds, and
you're either not ready to get tooled up for bigger or more frequent projects
or you just don't want to spring for that expense quite yet, there is a "free"
way to get the job done.
Avery/Dennison (They're the company that makes labels for nearly everything,
including CDs) has a trial edition of their media labeling software available
for download on their website. By "trial" they mean that it's a full version
of their basic labeling software, but it'll only let you use it for a limited
number of times (I think it's like 20 or 30 times) After that, you'll have to
buy it.
To pursue this option, surf to: www.avery.com/software/index.jsp and click
on the button that
will let you download their "Avery Media Software"
It's not very hard to use. The number of templates and design
possibilities are not as great as many other programs that you'll have to pay
for, but it is perfectly adequate for doing a very nice looking demo label that
can even have your picture or other imported "clip art" in it.

P.S. I put "free" in quotes, because there really is no "free" lunch. "Free"
products like this will have hidden costs... not the least of which will be the
time and frustration it takes to learn how to use a limited product that you
most likely won't be using long term. But be philosophical... Its limitations
will help you find out what features you want to be included in whatever
commercial package you ultimately buy.

Original question was:
This is a strictly technical question for anyone who has made their own CD.
I will be going into a home studio to make a demo for a Jewish concert program
and will come out with a handful of copies of it on CD. Is there a cheap and
easy way to label CD's other than writing on them by hand?
