[HANASHIR:9442] Re: Torah in song for 5-6 year olds

Raquel (and others): Yes there are a lot of words in "Shnayim Shnayim" (Sam
Glaser's song about Noah); however, the kids only sing on the chorus for
that one. They sing WITH the recording and I have to say it's one of their
favorite songs. They love doing different things with music through the
year and that's one song that we like to sing along WITH instead of having
me play for them. It happens to work well from K-3ish. The kids HAVE
learned about sanitation (and cleaning up the ark).... etc. As Carole so
eloquently put it in another email, if explained, acted out and truly
understood, kids are capable of more than we think! Maybe because it's a
day school situation I have more time with them than a supplemental school
situation. In any event, the chorus alone is a wonderful "get into the act"
part of the song and it's truly a hit in our school. The older kids didn't
enjoy this one as much because they thought it was a tad "babyish." But the
beauty of that cd is that there are songs for all age groups which makes the
entire production so worthwhile. Happy listening everyone!
